100 Modern Border Pattern - Substance and ZBrush Roll Brush

A border is a pattern that has to follow something — a panel edge, a seam, a rim, a strip of trim running across a surface. Stamping a tiling texture into that space almost never works, because the pattern stretches at the corners and loses its rhythm along a curve. This collection is a hundred modern border motifs authored specifically as trim toolkits, delivered as roll brushes that advance along a stroke and hold their scale wherever the stroke goes.

The set is Path tool compatible, and that is the headline feature. Draw a path across a model in Substance Painter, assign one of these brushes to it, and the border runs along the spline at even spacing — around a corner, along a bevel, down the length of a machined panel — with tiling and depth adjustable afterwards rather than baked in. In ZBrush the ZRoll brushes do the same thing on geometry. A stroke drawn along an edge lays the motif down continuously, so a raised trim is sculpted in one pass and then baked, rather than assembled from stamps that never quite line up.

For everything outside those two applications the flat textures cover it: 4K, sixteen-bit, in three formats. Both brush families need version 2018 or above. The collection was created by Mirage3Dart and Milad Kambari.
