About this pack

Damage is what turns a costume into a story. A torn hem, a shredded banner, a cloak that has clearly been through something — but tearing cloth convincingly means ragged edges with loose threads, and modelling that geometry is neither quick nor cheap. The fifth fabric volume solves it with texture instead: forty torn fabric sets whose opacity maps cut the silhouette, plus a stencil generator that lets you decide where the tear falls.

Inside

  • 40 PBR base materials in SBSAR format
  • 40 Normal maps, 16-bit PNG
  • 40 displacement maps, 16-bit PNG
  • 40 ambient occlusion maps, 8-bit PNG
  • Opacity across the torn sets
  • A stencil generator for Substance Painter
  • Two sets available free as samples

The stencil generator is the piece that makes this a tool rather than a texture pack. Rather than accepting a tear where the artist who authored it put one, you project the generator onto your own model and place the damage against your own UV layout — along an actual hem, around an actual hole, following the direction the fabric would really fail. Its opacity output drives the alpha, so the edge is genuinely open rather than painted to look open.

Everything tiles, which is worth saying because damage packs frequently do not. A torn material can therefore cover a whole surface and be masked back, instead of being confined to the one patch it was authored for, and the same forty sets serve a small prop and a large drape equally.

The base materials carry essential parameters, so scale and severity are dialled in on the model. Two sets are free, and they are the two to test the alpha workflow with before deciding on the rest.

Every purchase includes free lifetime updates and a no-questions-asked 7 day money back guarantee.

About Textures & Patterns

These packs cover the surface detail that generators cannot invent for you. Every pattern is seamless in both axes, authored from height data first so the normal and ambient occlusion maps agree with each other, and tuned for even contrast across the whole set.

Use them as stencils, projections, trim strips or straight tiling fills. They work in Substance Painter and Designer, ZBrush, Blender and any DCC that reads a PNG.
